Alignment fixes a dish that is pointed wrong; replacement fixes a dish that can no longer focus properly no matter where it points. If the reflector is warped, badly rusted or the arm is bent, peak meter readings stay poor even at perfect alignment — that is the tell. We test before recommending, and if alignment alone restores full margin, that is all we charge for.
Can you replace a dish the same day, storm damage included?
Usually, yes. Dishes, brackets, masts and fixings are standard stock on our vehicles, and same-day service is our norm across Gauteng. After a major storm, demand spikes and slots fill fastest for that day, so call early. A typical replacement, including the mount inspection and meter alignment, is completed within a couple of hours.
Will my LNB, cable and decoder work with the new dish?
In most cases, yes, and we prefer reusing them. The new dish is a like-for-like reflector, so a healthy LNB clips straight onto it and your existing cable and decoder carry on unchanged. We test each component during the job; if the storm that bent your dish also damaged the LNB, we will show you the readings before recommending anything extra.
Do you help with insurance claims for storm damage?
Yes. We photograph the damage before work begins, describe the cause and remedy on the paperwork, and provide the itemised documentation insurers typically ask for. Many household policies cover storm damage to fixed satellite equipment. We cannot promise what your insurer will decide, but our paperwork gives your claim the clearest possible footing.
Is the new installation guaranteed?
Yes, in writing. The workmanship guarantee covers the mounting, the dish fitment, the alignment and any cabling work done during the replacement, and the hardware carries its manufacturer warranty on top. Because we re-secure the bracket into sound structure as part of the job, the new dish is anchored to survive the weather that killed its predecessor.
Is there a cheaper route than a full replacement?
When the damage is limited, yes. A bent LNB arm on an otherwise straight dish can sometimes be corrected, and a failing bracket can be replaced under a healthy dish. We quote the smallest repair that genuinely restores performance — but we will not straighten a warped reflector and call it fixed, because the pixelation would be back within months.
