Diagnosed properly, repaired honestly

Most TVs are more fixable than people think

A TV with sound but no picture usually has a backlight or panel-board fault, not a dead screen. A TV that won’t switch on is often a failed power board or a few blown capacitors. These are repairs — frequently affordable ones — yet plenty of people replace a perfectly fixable set because nobody told them otherwise.

We diagnose the actual fault first: power board, main board, backlight, T-CON, or a software issue on a smart TV. Then we give you an honest answer — what it costs to repair, and whether that’s worth it against the price of a replacement. About a third of the time we’ll tell you to replace it, even though the diagnosis earns us nothing.

TV repair is a supporting service alongside our main DStv and installation work — but it’s work we take just as seriously, and it’s backed by the same workmanship guarantee.

Is it worth repairing my TV or should I replace it?

It depends on the fault and the TV. A backlight, power board or capacitor repair is often a fraction of the price of a new set and well worth doing; a cracked panel usually isn’t. We diagnose it first and give you an honest recommendation either way.

My TV has sound but no picture — is that fixable?

Usually, yes. Sound but no picture typically means a backlight or panel-board fault rather than a dead screen, and both are commonly repairable. We’ll confirm the exact cause on diagnosis.

Can you repair a cracked TV screen?

A physically cracked LCD/LED panel generally isn’t economical to replace — the panel costs almost as much as a new TV. We’ll tell you honestly rather than take on a repair that doesn’t make sense for you.

Which TV brands do you repair?

All the major brands — Samsung, LG, Hisense, Sony, TCL, Skyworth and more. Tell us the make and model and we’ll let you know what’s involved.

How long does a TV repair take?

Simple faults can sometimes be done same-day; board-level repairs or ones needing an ordered part take a little longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.

Do you collect the TV or must I bring it in?

Depending on your area and the TV, we can arrange collection or assess on site. Let us know your suburb and we’ll tell you the easiest option.
